The shelter started over 10 years ago and was first named the Florida Weimaraner Rescue. In 2008 it expanded to rescue all dog breeds and the shelter has saved the lives of over 10,000 animals since it was first founded. It adopts all breeds and sizes of dogs and finds loving homes for them, and it helps to create a better world by improving the lives of the animals as well as those who adopt them. The rescue has the goal of becoming a leader in the national animal welfare movement and wants to influence the local community through advocacy and educational programs, as well as developing innovative rescuing practices for dogs. How the Big Dog Ranch Rescue receives help You can help the Big Dog Ranch Rescue through several different ways. The rescue depends on the financial support of individuals and businesses to sustain itself and its programs and services. Those in the area can volunteer as the rescue depends on the support of volunteers. Much of its support comes from monthly donors, and the rescue also holds numerous adoption events throughout the year that require the help of volunteers. Donations and toys for dogs can be dropped off at their campus. The organization’s main source of income is the support from individuals and organizations, so your donations are certainly appreciated and will be used to help protect and save the lives of dogs all throughout the Southeastern United States. The Big Dog Ranch Rescue seeks more space The current space of the Big Dog Ranch Rescue is the most limiting factor at the present moment, and it’s a significant hurdle that needs to be overcome before it can expand. The Rescue seeks to expand its space, and the original space was built for wildlife and not dogs. At the moment the rescue’s mission cannot be fulfilled with its current space, and with donations it plans on building a new facility on its new 33 acre campus. The indoor facility will help animals cool during the summer and provide them a warm place during the winter, which the current space is not able to offer. The new facility will also be a model for the local community and an important facility for saving the lives of dogs in the area.
