Great food and great service as Delray's Top Spot doesn't disappoint. This duo of modern Italian restaurants, founded 11 years ago in Palm Beach Gardens, has revamped its menu with nearly 30 items available through the spring. “We ran hundreds of specials for customer feedback,” says Kelley Randall, executive chef of the Delray location. “We have always been a from-scratch kitchen, but with this new menu, it’s even more evident. Handmade pastas and hearty dishes are the star.”

One of his favorites is the pork chop Milanese with a salad of arugula, butternut squash, shaved fennel and apple-cider vinaigrette “It puts a whimsical twist on pork chops and applesauce but shines a light on Italian cuisine,” he says. These Palm Beach County restaurants received 3 1/2- or 4-star reviews from SouthFlorida.com's dining critics. Randall also favors the corzetti. “We hand-make our pasta and emboss the pasta ‘coins,’ then serve them with a walnut pesto, marjoram and white-truffle-oil drizzle,” he says. “The story goes that every family in Italy who made pasta from scratch had their own stamp to emboss it with.”

Other standouts are grilled octopus with nduja, a spicy spreadable salami, artichoke truffle pizza, build-your-own charcuterie board, wild-boar pappardelle and lobster, crab and shrimp risotto.
